Specialty IC timing devices are specialty or proprietary products related to IC timing devices. There are many types of specialty IC timing devices. Examples include digital timing devices, circuit timing devices, and IC timers. Digital timing devices have digital inputs and outputs that can lend themselves to automatic input timing compensation. However, mixed analog/digital systems place additional constraints on the handling of digital signal timing. Circuit timing devices work on an integrated circuit timing control method using a self-contained oscillator, digital counter, and output circuit to drive relays or trigger solid state outputs. Circuit timing devices are characterized by very low power consumption and immunity to voltage fluctuations. An IC timer is a semiconductor circuit that generates or sets timing for electronics circuits. Other specialty IC timing devices are commonly available.

There are several ways in which specialty IC timing devices function. A digital timing device has a built in LED digital count up or count down timer. A digital timing device is available in many key different digit sizes such as, 0.56 Inches, 2.30 Inches, and 2.50 inches. A circuit timing device is built with IC’s and some other components on a PCB. The timing modes and delay ranges are selected by on-board DIP switches. A few examples of other IC timers are the 555, 556, 558, and 755 IC timers. IC timers include transistors, diodes, and resistors on a silicon chip installed in an 8-pin mini dual-in-line package (DIP). Specialty IC timing devices are designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
