Specialty Data Acquisition and Converter Chips

About Specialty Data Acquisition and Converter Chips

Specialty data acquisition and converter chips condition signals or transform data (information) from one format to another, such from analog to digital. Specialty data acquisition and converter chips main function is analog to digital conversion (ADC) and digital to analog conversion (DAC). There are many types of specialty data acquisition and converter chips. Examples include digital to analog converter chips and analog to digital converter chips. digital to analog converter chips change a continuously variable (analog) signal, without altering its essential content, into a multi-level (digital) signal. Analog to digital converter chips convert signals having a few (usually two) defined levels or states (digital) into signals having a theoretically infinite number of states (analog).Other specialty data acquisition and converter chips are commonly available.

Specialty data acquisition and converter chips are produced with a variety of specifications. The speed and resolution of specialty data acquisition and converter chips depend upon ADCs and DACs, upon which they are built. An AD7655 is a four-channel, 16-bits successive approximation analog digital converter. A normal ADC digitizes one 12-b channel at 50 MS/s. However, 16-b boards are becoming the base standard for most applications because they are most affordable. An AD650 chip converts frequency to voltage and has good nonlinearity specifications, typically, 0.002%, and is inherently monotonic. 18 bits or higher resolution requires a programmable clock source with a frequency resolution of 0.38 Hz (100 kHz/262,144). The AD9833 low-power DDS IC with on-chip 10-bit DAC contains a 28-bit accumulator, which allows it to generate signals with 0.1-Hz resolution when used with a 25-MHz master clock. Specialty data acquisition and converter chips can be designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
